Wedding Planning - Gifts For the Bridal Party
Bridal Planning Tips
When planning a wedding there is so much to organize that it can be easy to forget something. Your big day is looming and nearly all the wedding arrangements have been made, the church and reception hall are booked, the caterers in place, the flowers have been paid for and delivery dates confirmed. You dress is almost ready, the groom assures you the suits are organized and he has arranged the transport. The hairdresser is booked for the morning of the big day, the bridesmaids have had their last dress fittings, the replies have been received to your invitations and you are still within your budget. Everything has been thought of but one thing, what gifts will you be giving to the bridal party?
Making the right decision can be a difficult task as there is so much to choose from and knowing what items the bridesmaids and best man will appreciate is tricky. By choosing something that can be personalized you instantly have a unique idea and an item that will be treasured forever by the bridal party members as a special reminder of the day.
The many gifts available range from modern items to the more traditional, but when it comes to selecting the right gift for your best man or bridesmaids then you need to choose a gift that will suit them. A gift that has obviously been thought about and chosen specifically for them will show them how highly you regard them.
Gifts are traditionally given by the bride to her bridesmaids and maid of honour to keep as permanent reminders of the wedding. The most appropriate gifts are those that can be used during the wedding itself, as well as being functional in years to come. If the bridesmaid gifts are to be on display during the wedding you need to make sure that they coordinate with the rest of the theme.
One perfect choice is an engraved compact mirror or necklace. Trinket boxes engraved with special messages or a photograph are also great ideas for bridesmaid gifts. Engraved photo frames, whilst not particularly useful for the wedding itself, are a gift that can be used for many years.
Traditionally the ushers and best man gifts would be given by the groom, however generally the actual purchase of the gift is left in the hands of the bride-to-be, so if you find yourself with this task there are some stylish options for the male members of the bridal party too. Gifts for the best man can be anything from cufflinks and pocket watches to silver frames and tankards. All these items can be engraved with a thoughtful message or even a photograph.
Practical items are of course very useful, cufflinks can be worn again and again and come in a great range of styles and materials with contemporary and novelty options to choose from. Silver engraved cufflinks uniquely for the best man make a great gift idea.
Tankards are another common alternative for best man gifts and a traditional choice. Pocket watches generally come with a warranty, both can be engraved with a personal message or photograph to make it that much more memorable.
The above are just a few suggestions for bridesmaid and best man gifts. To make your day even more memorable to the people in your bridal party engraving with a special message or the date, even a photograph of the happy couple, will add a unique touch. If you are the one having to shop for these items then research online where you will find a large range of choices.
Before buying any gifts make sure that any warranties, if applicable, are supplied and presentation boxes are included where possible. You will also find that many companies will include the cost of any engraving in the purchase price and online businesses will even deliver right to your door. These extras can take some of the stress away from your wedding arrangements and are the perfect solution when sourcing your bridal party gifts.

Gorgeous Wedding Day Hair
Wedding Tiaras And Hair Combs : How To Choose The Right One?
In this topic I would like to talk about how to chose the perfect hair accessory for a gorgeous wedding day hair.
1. Wedding tiaras come in different shapes and forms however there are certain things to consider.
The advice I always give to my brides is never to rush their decision and to follow the guidelines below when choosing their tiara:
Choose a tiara according to your face shape: the wrong shape tiara can make your face look too long and thin or too short and full. Here are a few useful tips::
a) Round face: To make your face appear longer, choose a tiara with some height. I would recommend a tiara with a minimum central peak of 2 inches.
b) Oval face: Avoid tall looking tiaras which will only make your face appear longer. Wearing a headband or side hair comb will make your face appear less oval.
c) Long face: I recommend headbands or tiaras with little or no height that extend over your head from one side to the other at an even height. The other option would be to wear a brooch or a hair comb.
2. Some brides are confused by the type of headpieces available - below are explanations of the most popular types:
Wedding Tiaras: Known as the "princess of headpieces," tiaras offer the most impressive effect. Tiaras can be worn with or without a veil and are usually embellished with pearls, crystals, diamante, etc. They compliment upswept hairstyles as well as shorter hairstyles.
Headbands: We recently added a collection of headbands due to popular demand as it has become a fashionable option. This is often ideal for brides that want to wear their hair down.
Double Headbands: Similar to the single headband but slightly more stable on the head. Double headbands have a real wow factor yet are still a more elegant alternative for some brides who don't like tiaras.
Hair combs: In 2009 hair combs seemed to me more popular with my brides than tiaras. Hair combs can be decorated with chunky Swarovski crystals or with an array of freshwater pearls but keep the weight of the hair comb in mind as you don't want it to be uncomfortable.
Hairpins: hairpins are a great addition to a haircomb or tiara. They can be simple freshwater pearl 1000 s to more elaborate designs which are usually placed at the back of the hair.
3. Harmony is key when chosing your wedding accessories. Try to match colour, size and style in order to project the perfect look.
4. Always try to match your tiara to your wedding dress. If your dress is made with a mixture of pearls and crystals I would suggest you wear a tiara with a similar arrangement. A dress made purely with crystals will allow for more flixibility when chosing the wedding tiara. On the other hand, if your dress is made only with pearls I would recommend having no pearls in your tiara (or very little) and have matching jewellery made. Ivory pearls and gold frames are a good compliment to ivory wedding dresses silver frames with white pearls and crystals fit better with a white dress.
5. Also keep the weight of your tiara in mind as a lighter tiara won't need as much pinning to hold it in place as a heavier tiara.
Finally, try not to worry too much! Everyone will be thinking how happy and beautiful you look whatever you end up choosing! Have a wonderful wedding day.

Putting the I in "I do"
In love, as in marriage, our eager and instinctual quest for unity and harmony will sometimes, along the way, cause us to lose sight of our individuality. Wedding Makeup Tips
Few Simple Wedding Make Up Tips
Wedding is one of the most special events in every body's life. Everybody wants to look perfect on their wedding day. To achieve that perfect look on one's wedding day one has to take care of a lot of things. From the wedding dress to your hairdo and the most importantly your make up must be absolutely perfect.
People generally tend do go overboard with their wedding make up. Most of the brides end up looking like painted dolls on the d day. Some blame it on their beautician and some blame it on their luck. But the fact remains that they did not look good on their wedding which most of them regret all their life. To save yourself from any such mishaps, follow the tips mentioned below. Whether you are taking the help of a professional or doing it yourself, you must follow these simple advices on wedding make up.
- Make sure that you start following a regular skin care routine consisting of cleansing, toning and moisturizing from at least a month before your wedding. This time is full of stress. So to prevent the stress from showing on your skin, you must take good care of it. Avoid oily food and follow a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables.
- On the d day before applying makeup clean your skin and apply moisturizer. Now you are ready to apply your wedding make up. Apply primer to even out your skin tone, and, make it look perfect. After this you may apply mint adjuster to cover your dark circles. Any prominent marks or blemishes must be concealed by a concealer. Instead of using foundation use eye base for the eyelids since these areas are very sensitive. An eye base has moisturizing as well as protective properties.
- Foundation must be applied with the help of a damp sponge to give your make up base a smooth and an even finish. Make sure that the foundation you are using matches your skin colour. Be careful about not leaving a line of foundation around the chin area which is a very common mistake.
- Now it is time to apply powder. Even if you do not use powder otherwise, use it today to keep the foundation set for a longer period. You can be very liberal when it comes to applying powder. But do not forget to brush off the excess powder.
- A very important part of a wedding make up is eye makeup. One must use an eye liner of a subtle colour so that it does not look very prominent. An eye liner must be applied very close to one's lash line. After this apply eye shadow of a neutral color taking care that you cover your whole eyelid. You can use a little dark shade on the corners to create a smoky as well as a dramatic look. Now apply mascara of a shade that matches your hair as well as skin colour.
- It's time to apply blusher now. Choose a color that complements your skin tone. Use it to give a soft contour to your face.
- The last thing is applying lipstick. Again choose a color that will look good on you.

The Art of Marriage
How to choose a wedding minister/ officiant

Planning a Wedding? Five Things to Discuss With Your Wedding Officiant by Reverend Leslie. Whether your dream wedding is a candle lit ceremony under the stars, a traditional wedding ceremony in a church, hotel, or restaurant or a wedding in the park, your wedding ceremony and your wedding vows will become a memory that stays with you forever. To ensure that your wedding is all you want it to be, you may want to discuss these five (5) topics with your wedding officiant.
1) Wedding Guests
Often times, wedding guests attend simply as spectators. Other times, wedding guests become participants in the wedding ceremony. Perhaps as simply as having parents give their children into marriage or including children of the couple in the wedding vows. Your wedding ceremony can also include asking your guests for a promise of support. The level of interaction with your wedding guests is entirely up to you.
Discuss: Do you want participation with/from any of your wedding guests?
2) Prayers, Readings or Music
Sometimes the bride and groom will have a special poem, verse, reading, song, quotation or prayer that they would like worked into the wedding ceremony. Reverend Leslie specializes in custom wedding ceremonies and would be happy to work with you to include those special pieces when creating wedding vows and a wedding ceremony that's everything you want it to be.
Discuss: Do you have special readings, prayers or music that you would like woven into your wedding ceremony?
3) Wedding Rituals
As an unbiased and non-denominational wedding officiant, Reverend Leslie is happy to include wedding rituals that have significance to you. Some couples like to receive a blessing, light candles to signify their unity, or to honor their parents with flowers as part of the wedding ceremony.
Discuss: Are there special wedding rituals that you would like to include in your wedding ceremony?
4) Wedding Attire
I traditionally wear a business suit when performing wedding ceremonies, but your officiant should be happy to discuss attire with you to ensure that his/her attire looks elegant with your wedding party.
Discuss: Do you have any thoughts regarding attire of your officiant?
5) Exchange of Rings
If you are planning to include children in your wedding ceremony, especially as a ring bearer, please do consider making an alternate plan in case the child is not able to carry through. Though children usually enjoy the attention, it is not unknown for a child to panic and be afraid to participate. Having another plan that is equally meaning and touching can save the day.
Discuss: If you are planning to include children in your wedding ceremony, have you planned what to do if they are not able to participate?

Best Caribbean Destination Wedding
Planning help for picking the perfect Caribbean destination wedding location, especially for large wedding groups. Suggested beach wedding islands include Jamaica, Aruba, St. Lucia, and the Dominican Republic.
So, he popped the question, you are officially engaged, and you've decided that a destination wedding is for you. It can be overwhelming picking the perfect beach location for your wedding, especially with the numerous destination options available. Below is a list of the top Caribbean destination wedding locations for your dream destination wedding which are perfect for large groups.
If you have a large wedding group, you will likely want to consider an easily accessible Caribbean island, as well as all-inclusive resort options. Jamaica, St. Lucia, Aruba, or the Dominican Republic are all excellent choices for large destination weddings.
Jamaica is known for its numerous all-inclusive resorts, such as Sandals, Beaches, and SuperClubs, which cater to large wedding groups. Jamaican wedding couples often get married at the resort, but there are also amazing villa options in Negril and Montego Bay that you can rent for a wedding ceremony. Or, if you prefer, a Jamaican beach can be the perfect natural setting for your Jamaican destination wedding. There are also many inexpensive flights to Jamaica for your wedding guests to choose from.
St. Lucia is a bit more difficult to reach, but also offers a number of amazing all-inclusive wedding resort options. St. Lucia is one of the most beautiful settings for a wedding because of its exotic landscape. With the Piton Mountains in the background, St. Lucia is often compared to Hawaii, specifically Kauai. If this sounds like your perfect Caribbean wedding location, then look into Sandals Grande St. Lucian and LeSport, which are two popular all-inclusive wedding resorts.
Aruba is an excellent choice for large weddings because it offers many resort options, but also exciting nightlife and thrilling daytime activities for your wedding guests. From casinos to waverunners, your destination wedding guests will never have a dull moment in Aruba. The Hyatt Aruba is a very popular choice for wedding couples, although the Divi Aruba is best if you want an all-inclusive option for your Aruba wedding. Aruba is also a great choice year-round, since it tends to have many direct flights from the U.S. and is typically south for the hurricane belt.
Finally, the Dominican Republic is quickly gaining popularity as the top destination wedding location in the Caribbean for large groups. Dominican Republic destination wedding couples love the many all-inclusive luxury hotel options, many which have on-site wedding planners and packages to simplify the wedding process. Iberostar Punta Cana and the Riu Bachata are great choices for your Dominican Republic wedding because they are all-inclusive resorts. So, your wedding guests can all stay and play together while they anticipate your dream beach wedding in the Caribbean!
If you still are having trouble deciding which Caribbean destination wedding location is best for you, perhaps you can make a scouting trip to Jamaica, St. Lucia, Aruba, or the Dominican Republic. Scouting trips are excellent excuses to spend some quality vacation time with your fianc and they can help you decide if this location is perfect for your wedding. You should consider visiting several resorts during your scouting trip, as well as meeting with wedding planners, caterers, bands, florists, and wedding officiants while you are there. During your trip, you can determine if a Jamaican wedding with a laid-back feel is perfect or a St. Lucian wedding incorporating the natural beauty of the island. Aruba is a bit of a long flight for some, so taking a trip to Aruba might really help you decide if your wedding guests and wedding party will be able to make the trip. Also, the Dominican Republic is growing quickly, but all the newness may not be part of your dream beach wedding. So, take a trip, and we wish you a beautiful and stress-free Caribbean destination wedding!
